Marshlands are part of the territory of Grandlieu.
Mainly located around Grandlieu lake, dry in summer and watered in winter, they stretch over 500 hectares.
They are exploited for varied purpose.
Agricultural marshes are important (60 %) and are used as pasture for cattle (Nantaise cows) in spring and summer. They enjoy a rich flora diversity.
Marshes used for hay or crops are less important (40%).
Marshlands are also exploited for other activities such as hunting and fishing.
